Ross on Wye Canoe Hire’s Covid-19 update’s

We have temporarily re-modelled  our business to adhere to Government guidelines with reference to ” Staying COVID-19 Secure ” especially around social distance measures and keeping everyone safe both within our facility and at all activity venue’s .

We want to reassure everyone that we at Ross on Wye Canoe Hire Ltd are mindful of the global effects of COVID-19 and our top priority is to keep our customers, team members and communities safe. We appreciate your understanding in these times.

Even though Englands COVID-19 restrictions are being lifted in Law on July 19th, as a business we have a close contact facility, greeting clients and transporting clients to venue’s. We still have a duty of care to keep our staff and clients safe. So we still require for the foreseeable future the wearing of a face mask or covering in our facility and on our transport (Compulsory).

Trips available are as follows (Subject to Change)

Full day Ross on Wye to Symonds Yat.

Half day Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat.

2 day multi day Hoarwithy to Symonds Yat or Monmouth.

Anyone who has a voucher or has a pending booking from 2020 with us you can now book in for the 2021 season (subject to availability). New Booking confirmations are sent automatically

CLEANLINESS AND HYGIENE

We take real care and pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene at Ross on Wye Canoe Hire and in response to COVID-19, we’ve taken some extra steps to make our cleaning and hygiene even more rigorous.

MEASURES PUT IN PLACE

We have changed our business model to adhere to the latest Government guidelines and have implemented the following which is constantly monitored:

  • Sanitising area’s located where we check in/out all equipment
  • Sanitising Station in registration & PPE area’s .
  • Increasing the frequency of cleaning all the areas used by the public and staff.
  • Sanitising our fleet of minibuses
  • Sanitising contact area’s in mini buses after each use.
  • NHS QR Code poster on all entrances for track and trace
  • Social distance markers throughout our facility
  • Limiting participant numbers on each transport run.
  • Staggering registration times ( Kerne Bridge option )
  • Staggering finish times
  • Wearing of a face mask or covering in our facility, on our transport (Compulsory).
  • Acrylic counter sneeze screens on reception desks.

NATIONAL COVID-19 WORKPLACE TESTING

We have adopted The National Workplace COVID-19 Lateral Flow Testing within our facility for full & part time staff.

Full time staff are tested every 4 days & part time staff regularly to fall inline with their work days.

If a member of staff gives a positive test result, then they are required to quarantine for a period inline with current guidelines.

We’re encouraging our staff and future customers to do some simple things to minimise the likelihood of a spread. These include:

  • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Put used tissues in the bin immediately
  • Wash your hands with soap and water often – use alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel if soap and water are not available.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
  • Social distance within our facility and at the venue

We’ve also set up provision to keep a close eye on Government advice so we can move quickly should things change or we are alerted to a case of Coronavirus within our team.

BOOKING/FLEXIBILITY

We have updated our booking terms and conditions given these unique circumstances to give you peace of mind should your plans change.

This means for the foreseeable future
the options are

1:All bookings can be amended up to the 24 hours before your trip. So if participants are unable to attend you can re-schedule your booking to a later date.

2:We can put it on hold until you have decided on a new date or issue a voucher to the value paid that can be redeemed at a later date.

All vouchers are valid for a 2 year period from the date of issue

2021 BOOKINGS:

In these times of uncertainty , for all 2021 bookings to give clients a low risk option of reserving canoes we have adjusted the deposit percentage to a lower amount of 20%

WHEN TO GET IN TOUCH

Outdoor activities such as canoeing can be carried out as long as you are not showing any symptoms and are not self-isolating.

If anyone who is due to canoe with us has been in contact with someone who has tested positive for Coronavirus, we would ask you to ensure you have completed 10 days quarantine prior to your trip date, otherwise contact us at info@thecanoehire.co.uk and re-schedule your trip for a later date.
